On May 2, members of the Connestee community came together to Pack the Pavilion for Bread of Life and Sharing House in Brevard. The community stepped up in a remarkable way and the outpouring of both monetary and food donations was overwhelming. Jan Newsome, REALTOR® at BHHS Great Smokys Realty, contributed canned vegetables, apple sauce, raspberry jam, peanut butter, canned fruits, apple juice, ketchup, pasta, egg noodles, whole wheat bread, toilet paper & Little Debbies. “In a time of social distancing it was so wonderful to be able to see so many of our Connestee friends drive by for drop offs. Things may be a little uncertain now but one thing is sure – Connestee cares. Thank you!” said Jan.
At the end of the day, over $4,000 was collected as well as 150 cases of food, paper products and baby items. All of these items will be used by folks in Brevard who are in need. It was a simple idea and two weeks later the community showed up. In a big way. #ConnesteeStrong
